Nightcliff Sports Club is home to our very own two-rink bowling greens. If you enjoy bowling at an indoor facility, you will love lawn bowls. It is all the fun and competitive aspects of the sport with the added benefit of being staged outdoors. Imagine spending a spring, autumn or summer afternoon with friends or family as you play a few games of lawn bowls, enjoy beers or cocktails and have lunch—all at the same spot!

With a large covered outdoor seating area, BBQ and bar facilities, we can cater for any size function. We can even have our experienced bowlers look after you on the day to set up equipment and guide you through how to play.

The price for such events is $10 per person, which includes equipment hire. We will have no problem accommodating your request, but we do encourage you to contact us at least a couple of weeks in advance. Our bowling green is perfect for corporate team bonding events, family gatherings, friend reunions, birthdays, bachelor or bachelorette parties or other events.

Bare Foot Bowls

Bare Foot Bowl is a great way to get your employees together for team building and corporate activities. We can even have our experienced Bowlers look after you on the day to set up equipment and guide you through how to play.

Price is $10 per person, which includes equipment hire.

The bowls bar can be opened on request for larger group bookings at additional costs. Please ask when enquiring about your social function. We can have a full-service bar with all our beers, wines, cocktails and other beverages available for your guests.

Catering & Food

A BBQ area is available beside the greens. Platters can be organised from the Ratatouille Bistro to cater for your function. Please ask for a menu when enquiring about your social function. Our menu does change seasonally and every few years, which means that you can get a better idea about the dishes that we can prepare if you call, email or visit our club to ask about the available options.

Nightcliff Sports Club is also the home of the Nightcliff Bowls Club. We are very proud of our association with the club, while we host various bowls events throughout the year. These events include the Prestige Pairs event from the 13th to 14th of July, Mixed Medley from the 15th to 17th of July and the Ladies Carnival from the 20th to 25th of July.

We also have the Men’s Carnival that takes place from the 27th of July to the 2nd of August. The specific dates for the events will change each year, but we will be sure to keep them updated on this page of the website. Aside from annual events, you can also look forward to weekly meets from the bowls club.

The weekly meets that take place at the Nightcliff Sports Club in the Darwin area include Nominated Pairs on Tuesdays at 5pm and Club Selected Pairs on Wednesdays and Sundays at 9:30am.
